National Day of Prayer

We all have problems. Some crop up at a moment’s notice, others are ongoing issues that just don’t seem to go away.  In many cases, we treat these situations in a way that ensures that there is no chance of a positive resolution.  We worry and fret, we go to people for answers, and we end up giving in to the belief nothing will change.  Why is this – especially when we know that we have power beyond comprehension that is merely a breath away?

There was a situation just today in which my wife and I had concerns about some things we are facing .  Stress was invading, and so was that old nag – worry.  I was being short with her and I could sense the preoccupation she was having over it all.  As we talked about it, I realized that we had to take this to Jesus so I said, “Lets pray.”  Unfortunately, that isn’t always my response, but it was this time;  we took the time right there and talked to God about it.  The problems didn’t just disappear when we said amen but, in those moments, we laid it all at His feet and put our trust in Him.  Pray with a purpose; not merely as an exercise, but with true faith and trust in God.  He can do miraculous things.

Matthew 21:22

New King James Version (NKJV)

22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
