Obstacles Hope and our Deliverance

Just thinking on a Sunday night, it’s what I do and I would say you probably are too.

problemMaybe your mind is dwelling on the week ahead; work tasks, appointments, home projects, long and short-term planning, family responsibilities, a few deadlines mixed in. Added to that are other pressures; health complications, family conflicts, deadlines you know you cannot meet, and meetings you are dreading. Mix in some legal issues, financial challenges, a little borderline depression and exhaustion and you are just about incapable of moving from your bed in the morning.

Your job is in jeopardy and you have people who are sabotaging you, and added to that you are sabotaging yourself! You are pretty much done now, to many things are collapsing to save, so you’re on the brink of a complete and total meltdown.

It is true that we all have obstacles, some which we make and some that are out of our control. Some are meant to test us, and others will ultimately bless us. They are all difficult and often reveal something about us that we can learn and grow from. It hurts when we find how short we sometimes fall, that we still have flaws in our character, or that our faith which we thought would stand through anything is shaken to it’s foundation.

money-problemsDoes anything there sound familiar to you, maybe all of it? It does to me, but I am sitting here tonight and I am feeling incredibly blessed! I have been given huge, undeserved doses of God’s limitless grace, and I am soaking up a flood of heavenly love.

computer-problems-565x268Don’t let anyone tell you that hope is lost, it never ever is as long as we are alive and God is the redeemer of it all!  David was a man who spent a lot of time in this world of troubles, much of his own making. He cried out in his distress, genuinely repented, and humbled himself completely. He paid a terrible price for his sins but he was also restored. Lets look at the process, from the onset of trouble in its many forms, to our deliverance, through a few scriptures from Psalms.

Pleading for mercy and help:

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: Psalm 9:13 (KJV)

Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. Psalm 22:11 (KJV)

The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. Psalm 25:17 (KJV)

Confessing our hope:

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Psalm 27:5 (KJV)

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.Psalm 32:7 (KJV)

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34:6 (KJV)

Our petition:

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalm 50:15 (KJV)

Sweet deliverance:

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. Psalm 34:6,7 (KJV)

The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17 (KJV)

But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble. Psalm 37:39 (KJV)

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. Psalm 41:1

A song of praise:

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalm 50:15 (KJV))

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. Psalm 59:16 (KJV)

I am encouraged in spite of the looming challenges ahead, and my hope is renewed and my faith fortified! I pray you are as well. God is ready to deliver us, so let us make sure we are in a place to be delivered; seeking, prayerful, listening, humble, and receptive! Have an amazing and blessed day in Jesus name!!
