I saw my psychiatrist today and got one of my scripts added back in for now. They were wanting to wean me off it, but its short half-life caused increased depression. Thats good news. Also on a positive note, the short-term disability provider got me back up to date. They had fallen four weeks behind. So happy to be able to pay rent on time and some bills that have been sliding.
The doctor also thought I might want to look into some DBT therapy.
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy tries to identify and change negative thinking patterns and pushes for positive behavioral changes. DBT may be used to treat suicidal and other self-destructive behaviors.
I have had recurring suicidal ideation which today he called chronic so it might be time to check into this.
I have applied for Social Security disability and am in the beginning stages of getting the funds together to have a psychiatric disability evaluation because of the extended nature of my illness. If you’d like to be a part of this please visit my gofundme page here.
I guess that its also an issue that I shower and brush my teeth about once a week. Selfcare, yikes, I am really bad at that.
Thanks for checking in on my so-called “progress” – every day is a day closer to…well, something.
I truly hope and pray for you that your disability pension goes through.
Worrying about finances is the worst when you are already battling depression and thoughts of suicide.
