Why Aren’t They New?

Lamentations 3:22-24 The Message (MSG)

God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,
his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.
 They’re created new every morning.
How great your faithfulness!
I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).
He’s all I’ve got left.

Question of the day: Are your days new every morning? What do I mean by new? Fresh, original, unseen before…every definition of new.

For me, I haven’t seen many new mornings just same old same old, day after day and month after month. Is that an error in the scripture or a lack of faith on my end. I know the answer, it’s the later, for sure. I am guilty of allowing days to run unending one after another. How could they possibly be new if there is no fresh expectation, no belief, and an inability to let go of the old?

Yeah. So where do I start? With today. Thats all I can do because yesterday is gone. Like the verse says He’s all I’ve got left.

So I will go with a fresh perspective based on Gods faithfulness and not my failures, with His unending mercy and not my selfishness.

  1. I wonder how Job felt every morning when he woke up after everything was taken from him.
Scripture does not give any hint to this.
Yes, he made the statement “though God slay me, I will trust him”.
Surely, it is not a sin to question where is God in my times of distress.
I been rethinking many things now since I started on this long haul journey.

    • No it isn’t a sin to question. But certainly if His mercies and faithfulness are refreshed each and every day I can appropriate some of the mercy for my day. I can see my joy restored and my trust in God energized.
